Chaminade Julienne Eagles- 2011 Season Preview

It was a disapointing 4-6 season for CJ last year. But the 4-6 could have easily been 9-1 with a few bounces of the ball. They lost five games by a total of 20 points and held 6 of there 10 opponents to 10 or less points. The season wasn't a total bust though, CJ defeated arch rival and 2 time defending state champion Alter in week 10. A massive upset that noone expected, it handed Alter there first GCL loss since 2005. The win over Alter should give the Eagles extra motivation in the off-season and with new coach, Marcus Colvin, in office the Eagles expectations should be rather high. They lost starting QB Michael Simpson to Trotwood, but do return multiple postions which should be an advantage of the Eagles using such a young team last year.

Fenwick Falcons- 2011 Season Preview

For the second year in a row Fenwick got off to a very hot start, starting off 7-0 and playing very impressive. But also for the second year in a row the Falcons collapsed losing there last three games. They did lose some key running backs in the off season but return a strong defense and heavily recruited QB Austin Gearing also returns. Fenwick will be an early favorite to win region 16 this year, aslong as history doesnt repeat itself, they have a very good chance of doing that.

Carroll Patriots- 2011 Season Preview

The Carroll Patriots are entering 2011 off a divison 2 playoff birth. Despite losing head coach Steve Bartlett in the offseason. The Patriots should still be strong on the defensive side of the ball. They will also get back senior running back Todd Richardson who had 5 touchdowns on 447 rushing yards last year. If they can figure out the right fits for offense Carroll should be a front runner for the GCL north in 2011.
