Week 2 Preview

Battle of Beavercreek

Carroll and Beavercreek will renew there rivalry tonight. The annual week 2 game has seemed to go back and forth the past few years and tonight will be no different. Carroll took a tough loss to Xenia last night, while Beavercreek lost to Fairfield.

Prediction: Beavercreek over Carroll

Thurgood looks to play spoiler again

Last season Thurgood Marshall pulled the unthinkable, beat the two GCL north powers CJ and Alter. Tonight they take on CJ trying to win again. Don't show up to this game late as the two primary running teams should keep the clock rolling and the points low.

Prediction CJ over Thurgood Marshall

Wayne takes on power house

For the fourth straight year Wayne will take on Canton McKinley. Wayne is 1-2 in the last 3 match ups, despite a down year last year Wayne appears to be stronger this year and can hope to tie the series with the McKinley Bulldogs

Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown: Saturday @ Nippert Stadium

Game 1: Oak Hills 28 Walnut Hills 0
After a slow first quarter the Oak Hills offense woke up in the second and third quarters to cruise to a 28-0 victory. DeMarco Ruffin lead the Highlanders with his power running that wore Walnut Hills down and open up the field for what was domination on both sides of the ball for Oak Hills, whose size was to much for Walnut Hills.

Star of the game: DeMarco Ruffin- Despite only rushing for 62 yards on 22 carries. Ruffin made a huge impact in the game

Game 2: Colerain 28 Pickerington Central 15
Both teams were able to score touchdowns on there first drives of the game, and it went back and forth from there it became a physical and fast football game. The back and forth contest went until late in the fourth when Colerain scored to make it 28-15 and put the game out of reach for Pick Central.

Star of the game: LA Ramsby- After losing most of last season to injury. Ramsby came out strong leading Colerain with 120 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Game 3: Lakota West 46 LaSalle 34
Lakota West capitalized off four LaSalle turnovers in the first half and ended up being enough to hold off LaSalles second half rally lead by freshmen QB Nick Watson.

Star of the game: Nick Watson- Despite the loss, Nick Watson gets our player of the game after being called in the second quarter to try and rally LaSalle back.

60 teams in 60 days: Fort Loramie

Fort Loramie was able to record 5 shutouts last year, along with 9 of there 10 regular season games in which they held opponents to under 10 points. Unfortunately for the Redskins there playoff run was cut short in week 12 by Minster. Fort Loramie will hope that the 2012 run will be a little deeper, and hopefully the regular season will carry the same results.

60 teams in 60 days: Springfield Catholic Central

Catholic Central's 2011 run was filled with senior leadership. A strong passing attack led by Brian Kelly who had 40 touchdowns and a defense that got the job done. Despite a team who passed much more then they ran, they will return there leading rusher Mitchell Grimone. Grimone rushed for just over 400 yards, and averaged 41.9 yards per game. Catholic Central will require another strong year in the passing game for a strong season once again.

60 teams in 60 days: Tri-County North

It was a team effort for Tri-County North last year. If you look at there stats, no single player stands out from the rest. Six different players scored a rushing touchdown last year, and three different players threw for a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball, ten players had more then 40 tackles. Despite a tough loss in the first round of the playoffs last year, the Panthers team effort could come in handy again this year, especially in a region 24.

60 teams in 60 days: Ada Bulldogs

It's always hard to replace a quarterback who threw for 3345 yards and 44 touchdowns the season before. That is what Ada will be faced with, coming off of a 9-3 season. Ada's high powered attack last season was tough to stop. They scored over 50 points 5 times and one game over 60. On the bright side for the 2012 Ada Bulldogs they will return a strong defense and running back Kellen Decker who had 14 touchdowns last year.
